Hamilton High School students presented
Three students who participate in SkillsUSA told board members about the very positive and hands-on experience the organization provides. SkillsUSA is for students interested in pursuing careers or expanding their knowledge of skilled trades. In spring, 19 students represented Hamilton High School in 13 different contest categories at the state-level competition, including cabinetmaking, CNC milling, carpentry, advertising design and woodworking display. This was the largest group of competitors that Hamilton had ever brought to state.
Hamilton High School Spark Program approved
The SPARK program represents an opportunity to expand Hamilton High School’s commitment to preparing students for both college and career. Modeled after successful programs in neighboring districts, SPARK will integrate core academic instruction with career and technical education, mentorship and authentic partnerships with local industries. The program’s design ensures students gain academic credits while also developing critical employability skills. Hamilton will begin implementation in 2026–2027 with two strands, setting the stage for a phased expansion that positions our students for long-term success in high-demand fields.
ESEA report approved
The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) requires school districts to create a consolidated application for funds. ESEA programs are: Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged; Preparing Training and Recruiting Licensed Teachers, Principals and Other School Leaders Grants; Language Instruction for English Learners and Immigrant Students; and Support and Academic Enrichment Grant.
The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction estimates that the district will receive approximately $199,900 of federal funds for these programs. The final amount will not be known until later.
