Schaffner appointed to School Board

The Hamilton School Board appointed Ashlie Schaffner to fill the Village of Sussex seat vacancy formerly held by Christy Gest-Marlin. Schaffner was sworn in on September 16 and immediately assumed Board duties. She is a Sussex resident and current district parent.

Schaffner will serve until spring of 2026 when she can run to complete the three-year term which would end in April of 2028. When a vacancy on the school board occurs, the remaining members are responsible for appointing a qualified citizen to fill the position. Schaffner was selected based on board members’ votes at a special meeting held September 16.

The Hamilton School Board has seven seats representing five municipalities and two at-large posts.
