Templeton Middle School students presented

Templeton Middle School Student Council members told board members about several things happening in their school community, including the current cereal box food collection. The Cereal Bowl has become an annual event at TMS to help restock the shelves at Sussex Outreach Services (SOS). Their goal is to collect 4,000 cereal boxes this year. Students also told board members about TMS athletics, clubs and Random Acts of Kindness recognitions.

Templeton Middle School Principal Brad Hoffmann presented a School Spotlight video about the importance of social emotional learning at TMS.

Plan to Close Achievement and Improve State Report Card Scores approved

Hamilton School District received an overall report card score of 86.3% which places the District in the Significantly Exceeds Expectations category. This places our district 13th of the 367 PK-12 Wisconsin districts for overall score. Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Cathy Drago, Teaching and Learning Coordinator Whitney Roth, Assistant Superintendent of Special Services John Peterson and Special Services Coordinator Katie Foy presented information about the 2024-25 state report card.

Report card evidence of closing gaps has been promising. Target group outcomes show that gaps are closing for both achievement and growth in English language arts and mathematics. Over the past 5 years, strong systems have been implemented, including calibrated and common assessment practices, Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).

Highlights from 2024-25 state report card:

Achievement
The Hamilton School District received an academic achievement score of 90.5. Hamilton ranks 7th out of the 367 PK-12 school districts in Wisconsin. Hamilton also ranks 8th highest in mathematics and 7th highest in English language arts.

Growth scores
Hamilton received a growth score of 74.6. This priority area evaluates schools on their students’ growth over time compared to the growth of similar students in other Wisconsin schools. This measure provides information on a school’s contribution to their students’ progress, regardless of the prior achievement level of those students.

Target group outcomes
The Hamilton School District received a target group outcomes score of 75.8. This priority area was designed to help focus support on the learners who need it most, while also improving outcomes for all students. The area provides a mini-report card for the lowest performing 25% of students in the district.

On-track to graduate
Hamilton School District received an on-track to graduate score of 94.7. This shows how students are progressing to complete their K-12 education.

Reports reviewed and approved

Several reports and documents were reviewed and approved including:

  • Contract with Rehab Resources for Occupational and Physical Therapy Services for 2026-27 and 2027-28
  • 2026-27 Non-Group Salary Recommendations

School Board members approved the appointments of:

  • Emily Frigge, Custodian I, p.m. at Hamilton High School, effective February 23
  • Katlyn Roloff, Educational Support – Instructional and Supervision at Willow Springs Learning Center, effective February 24
  • Lakia Thomas, Custodian I, p.m. at Willow Springs Learning Center, effective February 23

School Board members approved the resignations of:

  • Marisa Konrath, Custodian I, p.m. at Maple Avenue Elementary School, effective February 20
  • Jenna Miller, Special Education Teacher at Silver Spring Intermediate School, effective end of school year
