Picture Retake Day CHANGED to Oct. 21

Picture Retake Day has been changed to Wednesday, October 21. If your child wasn’t able to have their photo taken during Great Start Conferences, they will have their photo taken during their classroom session.

VIRTUAL students who did not have a photo taken should plan to come on this day during the photographer’s hours, which will be posted at a later date.

If you did not purchase photos in advance, you will still have a chance to place an order. Instructions will be included on your child’s photo envelope when the proofs are received.

Willow Springs Food Drive to be held Sept. 21 – Oct. 1

Our first service project will begin Sept 21. We will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Sussex Food Pantry. Please click here for a list of their most needed items.

Students will bring donations to their classrooms and add a sticker to a large heart poster to show how much we care about others in our community.

Let’s see how many boxes we can fill with food as well as how many stickers will end up on our heart!

We’re off to a great start of school!

Here are some reminders for families with in-person students:

  • Name tag: Please have your child wear their name tag daily for all of September. It really helps us get to know the children and helps staff assist students.
  • Backpack tag: If your child’s dismissal (backpack) tag breaks or comes off, please let us know so we can replace it. Backpack dismissal tags are used all year long.
  • Masks: Masks must be worn daily on the bus and while in school.
  • Food And drink: Please do not send snacks or drinks (other than your child’s water bottle) in your child’s backpack.
  • Toys, stuffed animals and backpack trinkets: We appreciate your help in keeping these items at home.
  • Dress for the weather: Continue to dress your child appropriately for changing weather and especially consider shoes that allow your child to play safely on the playground.

Reminders for families with virtual students:

  • Keep working on your regular school routine and creating your designated “school spot” at home.
  • Be sure to familiarize yourself with Seesaw before Monday as the learning tasks document will be posted daily by your teacher.
  • Attend live sessions promptly.

Emergency contact information

This year it is especially important that the Willow Springs health room can reach your child’s emergency contacts in a timely manner. At least one contact must be available to pick up an ill child within 30 minutes.

Please be sure your emergency contact information is up-to-date and consider adding extra contacts to your child’s Infinite Campus account if possible. Thank you for your cooperation.
