Literacy Night is Feb. 27

Willow Springs students and a parent are invited to attend a night filled with fun self-guided literacy activities during our newly formatted Literacy Night Feb. 27 from 5:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event will be an open house with literacy stations running continuously.

Winter gear is required every day

Students will go outside almost every day, unless the temperature with windchill is below zero degrees. Boots, snow pants, hats, and waterproof gloves are needed to help students enjoy Wisconsin winter recesses. Please remember that knit gloves, although convenient, offer very little protection from the cold temperatures.

Snow pants are required for children to play on the playground so please be sure to send all winter gear each day even if there is no snow outside. Snow pants keep kids warm and dry in the cold temperatures.

Thank you for helping us to keep our children comfortable and safe!

Crayola ColorCycle Program

There is a collection bin in the front lobby where families can recycle dried out markers from home through the Crayola ColorCycle Program. Markers from classrooms will also be added to the bin.

Willow Springs collected 37.5 pounds of markers last year which is about 1,875 markers saved from the landfill and transformed into fuel.

Please send dried out markers to school in your child’s backpack to be added to our collection bin and support this green initiative.
