Students honored for HFAC artwork selection
Hamilton High School students were recognized for having a piece of their artwork chosen for permanent display in the Hamilton Fine Arts Center. The artwork by Hailey Berres, Alyssa Malen, Brooke Ulrich and Emma Vlaski was selected for the HFAC lobby. Berres, Malen and Ulrich attended the meeting and were presented with a check for the purchase of their artwork.
Hamilton High School 2024-25 Student Handbook approved
Hamilton High School Principal Dominic Bauer presented recommended changes to the student handbook. Yearly and language updates were recommended along with changes to sections regarding the late and tardy designation, cell phone usage and supplying medical documentation regarding doctor appointments.
Additional special education teacher approved
Due to projected enrollment needs for the 2024-25 school year, an additional special education teacher is recommended at Maple Avenue Elementary School.
Reports and documents approved
Several reports and documents were approved including:
- Academic standards/learning targets for 2024-25
- Course modifications for high school Communication Arts 10 and American Literature Grades 11-12
- Grade 8 theater curriculum
- Reviewed and Revised Board Policies and Position Descriptions
Personnel action
Board members approved the appointments of:
- Hannah Liptack, Educational Support – Special Services at Silver Spring Intermediate School, effective September 3
- Shalini Nagaraju, Educational Support – Special Services at Lannon Elementary School, effective September 3
- Jeffrey Newcomer, Athletics/Activities Director at Hamilton High School, effective July 1
Board members approved the resignations of:
- Addie Starrett, Instructional Coach at Templeton Middle School, effective July 1
- Marissa Bresson, Custodial I PM at Woodside Elementary School, effective July 19
