Teacher recognized as Early Career Educator

Hamilton School Board members recognized high school applied engineering and technology teacher Joe Premo for being named an outstanding Early Career Educators by the Wisconsin Association of Colleges for Teacher Education.

Premo was recognized for encouraging his students to be lifelong learners and making connections with community leaders in business, education and industry. He was one of 23 Early Career Educator Award winners chosen statewide based on the positive impact they have on schools or communities, innovative learning experiences and advocacy for students. The award is presented to outstanding educators within the first three years of their professional career.


Personnel action

In personnel matters, the School Board:

  • accepted resignations of Hamilton reading specialist Wendy Pliska, Willow Springs special services paraprofessional Jennifer Bachhuber and Marcy special services Paraprofessional Peter Matenaer;
  • appointed Lynn Wick as a Hamilton associate kitchen employee, Kathleen Nyhouse as a Marcy associate kitchen employee, Amy Baranowski as a Templeton grade 8 teacher and Jeffrey Pringle as a part-time Willow Springs custodian; and
  • appproved a one-time merit stipend of $200 prorated by full-time equivalency for identified food service staff members who work less than 5.5 hours per day.
