The Wisconsin Society of Science Teachers (WSST) has officially named Dr. Mary Caucutt as a recipient of the prestigious Excellence in Science Education Award. The honor was presented on March 13 at the WSST Annual Conference held in Appleton, Wisconsin.
“I am incredibly honored to be named a recipient of the WSST Excellence in Science Award,” shares Templeton Middle School Science Teacher Dr. Mary Caucutt. “To be recognized by such a distinguished organization is a highlight of my career. I want to thank the WSST for this honor and for their unwavering support of the scientific community in Wisconsin.”
The Excellence in Science Education Award is a competitive annual honor designed to foster and recognize outstanding contributions to the improvement of science instruction across the state. It is awarded to educators who demonstrate a deep commitment to student success and the advancement of the field.
Dr. Caucutt was recognized not only for her decades of experience but also for her recent contributions to modernizing science pedagogy. She recently presented at the WSST conference on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the science classroom, providing colleagues with strategies to use emerging technology as a tool for inquiry and discovery.
