Hamilton High School students explore possibilities during Career Day

Hamilton High School (HHS) students had the opportunity to hear from dozens of professionals during Career Day on March 13. Approximately 80 guest speakers from the community came to HHS for a morning specifically dedicated to college and career explorations.

“Today is such a fantastic day,” shares Hamilton High School Counselor Tricia Rigg. “Sometimes students don’t know what careers are out there. Career Day gives students the opportunity to ask questions and learn about things that they aren’t exposed to.”

Guest speakers represented a large variety of careers from occupational therapy and law enforcement to nuclear engineering and manufacturing. Students were able to select two 35 minute sessions to attend.

Spencer Heim is paramedic and firefighter for the Western Lakes Fire District and Merton Fire. Heim says that presenting during HHS Career Day is a great opportunity to help build the next generation of emergency responders. “It helps to get younger people excited about all the possibilities,” he explains.

“Career Day brought together an impressive range of professionals who connected with our students through engaging conversations and real-world insights,” said Hamilton High School Associate Principal Jacob Doyle. “The strong level of student participation and curiosity highlighted just how meaningful these experiences are as students explore their future paths.”

This is the second year Career Day has been held at HHS. Administrators would like to thank the following businesses and organizations for participating.
