Hamilton drama presents “Gossamer”

Hamilton High School Drama Society invites community members to attend “Gossamer” Nov. 12-14 at the Hamilton Fine Arts Center (HFAC). Shows begin at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. for the Sunday performance.

“Gossamer” is a haunting story based on the book by Lois Lowry. It tiptoes between reality and imagination as two people — a lonely, sensitive woman and a hurt, angry boy — face their own histories and discover what they can be to one another, renewed by the strength that comes from a tiny, caring creature they will never see.

Where do dreams come from? What stealthy nighttime messengers are the guardians of our most deeply hidden hopes and our half-forgotten fears? The Hamilton Drama Society’s production of “Gossamer” confronts these questions and explores the conflicts between the gentle bits and pieces of the past that come to life in dreams and the darker horrors that find their form in nightmares. In these explorations we find the strength to move forward, heal and most importantly, love.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. All tickets must be reserved online or by phone. Tickets may be purchased at or by calling 706-550-1416 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday-Friday. Online ticket sales are available until the start of the show using a smartphone or a computer onsite.

The Hamilton Fine Arts Center is located at W220 N6151 Town Line Rd., Sussex.
