Student handbooks approved

School Board members approved yearly updates for Templeton Middle School, Silver Spring Intermediate School and all elementary school student handbooks. Changes include minor language and date updates to accurately provide 2025-26 information. Other changes include absence clarification updates and the addition of the Behavioral Consequence Progressive Discipline Guide. Silver Spring Intermediate School is also adjusting their bell schedule to add five minutes to each lunch period and recess.

Additional special education staff approved

Due to increased student needs, an additional special education teacher is recommended at Willow Springs Learning Center for the 2025-26 school year. 

Reports and documents approved

Several reports and documents were reviewed and approved including:

  • Non-Group Salary Recommendations for 2025-26
  • Membership in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) for 2025-26
  • Hamilton High School Activities Handbook for 2025-26
  • Hamilton High School National Honor Society Handbook for 2025-26
  • Participation in the 2025-26 Southeastern Wisconsin Schools Alliance Agreement
  • Amendment Request to 2024-25 Budget
  • Reviewed and Revised Board Policies

Personnel news

Board members approved the appointments of:

  • Brecken Ashenbrenner, Special Education Teacher Replacement at Silver Spring Intermediate School, effective August 25
  • Molly Nelson, Educational Support – Clerical and Supervision at Templeton Middle School, effective September 2
  • Kyle Sabruno, Educational Support – Instructional and Supervision at Hamilton High School, effective September 2
  • Ella Evenson, Grade 4 Math & Science Teacher at Woodside Elementary School, effective August 25
  • Kayla Zelinski, Associate Kitchen Employee at Maple Avenue Elementary School, effective September 2
  • Kelly Rettler, Educational Support – Instructional and Supervision at Willow Springs Learning Center, effective September 2

Board members approved the resignations of:

  • Kirsten Schlaman, Educational Support – Special Education at Woodside Elementary School, effective end of 2024-25 school year
  • Lasyris Knox, Custodian I PM at Hamilton High School, effective June 20
  • Kimberley Mittelstaedt, Educational Support – Literacy Interventionist at Templeton Middle School, effective June 13
