Lannon Elementary School Principal Brian Balfany presented a spotlight video about The Greater Madison Writing Project, which is new to fourth grade students this year.
Additional special education staff approved
Due to increased student needs, additional special education staff is recommended at Lannon Elementary School for the remainder of the 2024-25 school year. Funding will come from the district budget this year and then the district will be eligible to apply for Transfer of Service (TOS) for the 2025-26 school year. The TOS program, administered by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI), allows school districts to apply for additional revenue authority when students with high-cost special education needs transfer into their district.
Human Growth and Development Advisory Committee Report accepted
The district reviews Human Growth and Development every 5 years. The committee consisting of staff, parents and community members met earlier this year to review the curriculum. This is only regarding the process. Possible curriculum changes will be presented in spring.
