Hamilton students shine in statewide Microsoft competition

Hamilton High School is proud to announce that several students in the Computer Applications course have achieved top 10 rankings in the 2026 Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Wisconsin State Championship Fall Qualifier. The competition recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional proficiency in industry-standard software.

“We have seen amazing results from the MOS program at our school,” shares Hamilton High School Business Education Teacher Brenda Savic. “Students learn and validate key workforce skills that will serve them well long after graduation,” she adds.

Hamilton High School Business Education Teacher Toni Hillmann says the competition motivates students. “We are incredibly proud of these students, who have proven to be among the best in our entire state,” explains Hillmann. “Furthermore, the Microsoft Office Specialist National Championship motivates these students to get certified.”

The following students placed:

Microsoft Excel (Microsoft 365 Apps)
  • Wyatt Schultz – 1st place
  • J’Lynn Wise – 4th place
  • Brody Jick – 5th place
  • Carson Junemann – 8th place
  • Abigail Nybroten – 10th place
Microsoft Word (Microsoft 365 Apps)
  • Jacob Derra – 5th place
  • Dimitri Chojnacki – 6th place
  • Leah Bickler – 7th place
  • Brody Jick – 8th place
  • Rocco Rubens – 9th place

Hamilton High School freshman Wyatt Schultz took first place in the state for Microsoft Excel (Microsoft 365 Apps.) This provides Schultz with the opportunity to represent Wisconsin at the 2026 MOS U.S. National Championship in Nashville, Tennessee this June. There, he will compete against top students from across the country for a chance to advance to the World Championship in Anaheim, California.

The Microsoft Office Specialist certification is the only globally recognized credential of its kind, serving as a powerful asset for students entering the workforce or higher education.
