Students in Hamilton High School’s Business Department Computer Programming class earned programming language industry standard certifications. The IT Specialist program is designed for individuals who are considering a career in information technology.
Information Technology Specialist Certification exams for HTML/CSS and JavaScript languages are a way for students to validate foundational IT skills sought after by employers.

The HTML/CSS exam requires students to demonstrate that they can structure a web page using HTML elements and create and apply styles using CSS. For the JavaScript exam, students need to demonstrate that they can recognize, write and debug JavaScript code that will logically solve a problem. To be successful on the tests, candidates are expected to be familiar with the languages’ features and capabilities. They also need to understand how to write, debug and maintain code.
Computer Programming is a transcripted credit course in which students can earn three free college credits at Waukesha County Technical College for earning a C or better in the course at Hamilton High School.
