A total of 35 Hamilton High School DECA members represented the district Jan. 7 at the Southeastern Wisconsin Career Development Conference at J. I. Case High School in Racine. Hamilton’s DECA group earned 33 awards and 18 students qualified for state competition. This is the most students to advance to state in Hamilton’s history.
The following Hamilton students earned recognition in their respective series:
- Carolyn Troutman, second place overall and four medals, apparel and accessories marketing;
- Julia Gahr, second place overall and three medals, business services marketing;
- John Weber, third place overall and two medals, food marketing;
- Sophia Detweiler, second place overall and three medals, principles of business management;
- Shiva Senthil, one medal, principles of business management;
- Maanya Kashyap, first place overall and three medals, principles of marketing;
- Mackenzie Jene, fourth place overall and two medals, quick service restaurant management;
- Brian Wiedenfeld, one medal, quick service restaurant management;
- Bryce Batzko, one medal, sports and entertainment marketing;
- Andrew Tai, first place overall and one medal, economics excellence;
- Nicholas Nettesheim and Rutvik Kulkarni, fourth place overall and one medal each, business law and ethics;
- lake Batzko and Peyton Feudner, one medal, buying and merchandising; and
- Logan Ambrookian and Andrew Tai, second place overall and three medals each, travel and tourism marketing.
The following students also will advance to state competition by invitation based on high test and overall scores: Hailey Pifher, apparel and accessories marketing; Rushil Patel, business finance services; Patton Germann, sports and entertainment marketing; and Gavin Kuhlenbeck and Bennett Pauls, sports and entertainment marketing.
The State DECA Career Development Conference will be held March 7-9 at the Grand Geneva Resort and Conference Center in Lake Geneva, Wis.
