The Hamilton School Board approved the hiring of Paul Mielke, Ph.D., as the new Templeton Middle School principal at its April 28 meeting. He will begin his new position July 1.
Mielke has been principal at West Allis Central High School since 2009. Previously he was assistant principal and athletic director at Waukesha South High School. He started his career in education as an English teacher at Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School.
He earned his doctorate and master’s degrees in educational leadership from Cardinal Stritch University in 2012 and 2005, respectively, and his bachelor’s degree in English and history from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh in 1999.
“Dr. Mielke is an energetic, hardworking individual who possesses the skills and ability to help an already great school continue to grow and flourish,” Hamilton Superintendent Kathleen Cooke said. “He will continue the tradition of excellence established by Mrs. Polczynski, who is retiring from her position as principal at the end of the school year.”
“His strong knowledge of instructional practice, understanding of the unique needs of middle school students and ability to draw the entire school community around a shared vision are key assets that will help him serve Templeton students, parents and staff.” Cooke said.
