Woodside Elementary School students and staff will recognize the contributions of the nation’s veterans Nov. 3 beginning at 9 a.m. with a music program in the gymnasium.
The program will feature:
- first grade students marching to the stage playing instruments and waving flags;
- Hamilton School Board member Jim Long guest-conducting the “Star-Spangled Banner”;
- a flag ceremony by Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts;
- an “Armed Forces Medley,” in which veterans in the audience stand so students can applaud for them;
- several patriotic songs by first grade students;
- a fifth grade volunteer chorus; and
- bagpiper Russ Read, father of a Woodside alumnus, performing the closing song to honor veterans who are no longer living.
