Hamilton senior among first place explorer’s post

A Hamilton High School senior was part of the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department Explorer Post 6700 that took first place among explorer posts from throughout southeast Wisconsin. The competition, held at Muskego’s Bay Lane Middle School, challenged explorers to real life scenario-based situations.

David Schroeder was among the members of Post 6700 which, in addition to taking first place overall, came in first for crime scene investigation, second place for tactical response, conflict resolution and courtroom testimony, and third place in physical agility.

“These fine young men and women are a great example for their generation,” said Waukesha County Sheriff Dan Trawicki.

The sheriff department’s explorer program focuses on character building, leadership development and appreciation for community service and good citizenship. The program helps prepare the explorers for their roles as citizens, community members, leaders and in future law enforcement careers.

While they did not participate in the competition, Hamilton juniors Jake Ehley and Joseph Riojas also are explorers in the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department Post 6700.
