Hamilton High School student drivers learned in June that the road is full of more than just cars through presentations from the Share the Road program and the Wisconsin Road Team.
Local radio personality and motorcycle enthusiast Jonathan Green presented a 40-minute “Share the Road” talk sponsored by ABATE of Wisconsin, Inc. designed to increase driver awareness of motorcycles. Topics included accidents, seeing versus perception, visibility, lane positioning, following distance, passing and motorcycle protective clothing and equipment.
Darryl Falk, a 2007 Road Team member, talked about highway safety and the trucking industry’s importance to Wisconsin’s economy. The Wisconsin Motor Carriers Association created the Road team in 1988 to help improve highway safety, promote professionalism in the industry and improve the trucking industry’s public image. Last year, the team spoke to over 15,800 drivers education students in over 255 schools throughout the state.
Hamilton High School is located at W220 N6151 Town Line Road.
