Templeton students win energy bookmark contest

Two of the three sixth grade winners in the Wisconsin Energy Bookmark Contest were from Templeton Middle School. The bookmarks of Austin Delaney and Andy McClone were chosen winners in the statewide contest which drew more than 100 entries.

“Career Connections: Energy at Work” was the topic for this year’s contest that focused on careers in the fields of energy including research and development, generation, installation, maintenance, sellers, buyers, equipment manufacturers and fuel production.

The bookmark contest is coordinated by the K-12 Energy Education Program and was open to Wisconsin fifth, sixth and seventh grade students. Three bookmarks are chosen at each grade level and each winner receives a $50 savings bond that will be presented at an awards ceremony in April. The winning set of bookmarks will be distributed to more than 3,000 libraries in Wisconsin.
