Hamilton band takes second consecutive first place

With a school record score, the Hamilton High School Charger Marching Band took its second consecutive first-place trophy Oct. 14 at the Cudahy High School Marching Band Invitational. The Hamilton band scored 70.75 points to finish ahead of all bands in class AAA competition and won two other awards for best visual presentation and best color guard. The band also earned first place in its division the previous week in the Greendale High School Preview of Champions competition.

The Charger Band will finish its season Oct. 21 at the Wisconsin State Marching Band Championships on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater campus.

Hamilton High School Band Director Jon Waite noted that many judges, band directors and school spectators have noticed the band’s steady improvement since it began competing several years ago. Waite said there is heightened respect and expectations for what the band can accomplish.
