Fall coaches required to attend two August meetings

Hamilton High School reminds all community members who coach fall sports at the high school that their attendance at two meetings in August is required.

The Fall Coaches Meeting will be at 4 p.m. Aug. 8 in the high school library. Coaches will learn about revised co-curricular handbooks and updated policy changes at this 30-minute meeting. Handbooks, rules books and schedules will be handed out.

Coaches also are expected to attend the Fall Parent-Player Meeting at 6 p.m. Aug. 17 in the high school gymnasium. Because this meeting occurs after fall sports have begun, coaches must notify their athletes to get all paperwork in prior to the start of the season. In the past when the meeting was held earlier, students were reminded about their paperwork at the meeting.

Following the Parent-Player Meeting, coaches will meet with their players and parents. Coaches are expected to hand out practice schedules and expectations for their program. The practice schedules should be turned in to the Athletics-Activities Department as soon as possible.

All head and assistant coaches are reminded that they must be certified in CPR and first aid. The district provides training for all coaches. Contact the Athletic-Activities Department at (262) 246-6471 ext. 1121 if training is needed.
