Hamilton High School (HHS) proudly honored graduating seniors who have committed to serving in the United States Armed Forces during a Military Commitment Celebration held on June 1. The event brought together family members, students, staff and local veterans to recognize their decision to serve.

Major General Matthew Strub is Wisconsin’s Adjutant General and served as a guest speaker during the ceremony. “Thank you to the parents that have said yes,” he told those in attendance. “They are in the hands of the best military in the world. They are going to go do great things for our country. Our country is what it is because of them and those who have gone before them,” Strub added.
The event began with a March of Heroes through the halls of Hamilton High School, allowing students, staff and invited guests to applaud the future service members. A brief program in the HHS Little Theatre followed, recognizing each student and the branch of military they have selected. A highlight of the day was the administration of the Oath of Enlistment, symbolizing the students’ commitment to serving their country.
“Today’s commitment ceremony is an opportunity for us to honor students who have chosen to serve our country through the military,” said Hamilton High School Associate Principal and Extended Learning Coordinator Marquea Goike. “This is a path that requires courage, sacrifice, discipline and dedication. We are incredibly proud of each one of these students.”
The ceremony recognized students at various stages of their military journey. While three students were present to participate in the event, others had already begun training or entered active service. Regardless of where they are in the process, the event served as an opportunity for the Hamilton community to celebrate their dedication and future contributions.
