2026-27 State Assessment Requirements & Hamilton High School Dates

Fastbridge Reading & Math Screener

  • Point persons – B. Decker & B. Hermanson
  • Administered three times a year
  • For grades 9 & 10
  • Test dates – Oct., Jan. & May
    • exact dates to be determined
  • Purpose – to identify students that qualify for RTI interventions, are struggling & to gather baseline data for classes
    • replaced MAP

PSAT

  • Point person – H. Geracie
  • Administered once a year
  • For grade 11
  • Test date – Oct. 20, 2026
  • Purpose – optional as a practice for the SAT
    • necessary for juniors to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program

ACT

  • Point person – L. Smith
  • Administered once a year
  • For grade 11
  • Test date – March 10, 2027
  • Purpose – required by state for the school to administer an ACT to every junior & cover fee
    • students may use score for college admission if they choose

Forward

  • Point person – K. Hasbrook
  • Administered once a year
  • For grade 10
  • Test date – March 16, 2027
  • Purpose – state required assessment for social studies
    • mandatory for all sophomore students

ACCESS

  • Point person – J. Kapatanovic
  • Administered once a year
  • For all EL students
  • Test dates to be determined
  • Purpose – to assess EL students on four different areas of language acquisition

Pre-ACT

  • Point person – L. Smith
  • Administered once a year
  • For grade 9 & grade 10
  • Testing date – April 13, 2027
  • Purpose & description – state required
    • pre-ACT; preps students for the actual ACT
    • covers five subjects

AP Testing

  • Point person – H. Geracie
  • Administered once a year
  • For grades 10 – 12
  • Test dates – May 3-14, 2027
  • Purpose – to assess what students learned in their AP classes & give them the opportunity to score well enough to earn college credit
