Templeton Middle School Student Council (TMSSC) experienced success at the recent Wisconsin Association of School Councils (WASC) State Competition held April 19-20 in Madison. TMSSC members competed against other Wisconsin schools in nine categories, earning accolades and demonstrating versatility in leadership, creativity and communication.

Templeton Middle School Teachers and TMSSC Advisors Tim Kruschel and Dr. Mary Caucutt expressed immense pride in the team’s conduct and dedication throughout the weekend.
“Watching these students navigate the challenges of the state convention with such poise and dedication was truly inspiring,” explains Caucutt. “They didn’t just win awards, they demonstrated the kind of collaborative leadership and creative problem-solving that defines the future of our community.”
“We are incredibly proud of how they represented Templeton Middle School on the big stage,” adds Kruschel.
State-Level Excellence
The delegation achieved the prestigious “Best in Show” title in four of their nine categories:
- Leadership, Empowerment and Expansion (L.E.E.)
- Creative Marketing
- T-Shirt and Graphic Design
- Speech
A Medal-Winning Performance
The students secured a total of nine medals, showcasing the depth of talent within the council:
- Gold Medals: Speech, Best Project, and T-shirt Design
- Silver Medals: Marketing, Scrapbook, and Group Scenario
- Bronze Medals: Writing, L.E.E., and Banner Design
The convention also marked a significant personal milestone for TMS Student Council President, Greta Greiber. Following a rigorous selection process, Greta was elected as the Vice President of the Region 4 Collaborative Leadership Team for the 2026-2027 school year.
The TMS Student Council is dedicated to fostering leadership, service and school spirit. Through participation in regional and state-level events like the WASC Convention, students gain valuable experience in civic engagement and professional development.
