Supercharged Rebels Robotics Team advances to prestigious invitational 

Members of the Supercharged Rebels Robotics Team from Templeton Middle School and Silver Spring Intermediate School are proud and excited to represent Wisconsin at the WAFFLE FIRST® LEGO® League Invitational in Worcester, Massachusetts held June 11-14, 2026. The students will compete against elite robotics teams from around the world.

The “WAFFLE Invitational” refers to the WPI Annual FIRST LEGO League Event (WAFFLE), an international invitational robotics competition hosted by Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

The Supercharged Rebels have had an outstanding season during the 2025-26 school year, earning several major awards including: 

  • First Place Robot Performance Award at Wisconsin State Championship
  • First Place Robot Performance Award at Mukwonago Sectionals
  • Second Place Robot Performance Award at Marquette Regionals
  • Second Place Innovation Project Award at Marquette Regionals

This school year, the team competed in the 2025-2026 FIRST LEGO League Challenge, a global STEM program that combines robotics, research, innovation and friendly competition to solve real-world problems. Through the program, students design and program robots, develop innovative solutions to practice teamwork and problem-solving. The season theme “Unearthed” focused on Archaeology and the team solved the important problem of transporting artifacts through a custom 3D printed solution. Team members have put in tremendous effort not only in innovation and robot performance, but also in the areas of core values, team building and fun outreach activities.
