Students in Hamilton High School’s Business Department Computer Programming class earned programming language industry standard certifications. The students successfully passed the Information Technology Specialist (ITS) exam in HTML and CSS. This achievement certifies that these students have demonstrated mastery in fundamental web development skills, including structuring web content and styling web pages for a modern digital environment.
The Information Technology Specialist program acts as a validation of entry-level skills that are in high demand across various industries. By earning this certification, these students have proven their proficiency in coding, cascading style sheets (CSS), and web design principles, setting a strong foundation for future careers in technology and digital media.
The following students achieved this certification: Andrew Emrich, Ashley Mikl, Cullen Coppersmith, Gavin Roberts, Liam Gatdula, Marko Roksandic, Max Boembeke, Michaela Harnett, Prachi Bendre, Vidushi Pandya, QI XingZhao, Yi Lilian Lee, and Dontavious Roberson.
“We are incredibly proud of the dedication and technical aptitude our students have shown,” said Hamilton High School Computer Science and Business Education Teacher Brenda Savic. “Mastering HTML and CSS is the first step toward building the web, and earning this certification demonstrates that our students are graduating with the real-world skills employers are looking for.”
To prepare for the rigorous exam, students utilized comprehensive curriculum resources, including practice simulations through GMetrix, to hone their coding abilities. The certification is recognized globally and serves as a significant credential for students’ resumes and college applications.
Computer Programming is a transcripted credit course in which students can earn three free college credits at Waukesha County Technical College for earning a C or better in the course at Hamilton High School.
