Templeton Middle School’s seventh and eighth grade Peer Helpers celebrated World Kindness Day in a truly meaningful way, by spreading positivity throughout the entire school community.
During the lunch hour on November 13 and 14, students invited their peers to contribute to a growing “Kindness Chain” by writing a positive message, their name or the name of someone they appreciate on individual paper links. The links were then connected and hung to create a powerful visual symbol of unity, encouragement and compassion within the school.

Additionally, students were encouraged to write letters of thanks and gratitude to any staff member at Templeton Middle School such as teachers, support staff, custodians or office staff.
“The person you write to doesn’t have to be a teacher or staff member you see every day,” explained Templeton Middle School student Aubrey Bauer. “It could be a teacher from last year or a staff member that helps keep our school running.”
“World Kindness Day is the perfect opportunity for our students to show how much kindness already exists in our building,” said Templeton Middle School Counselor and Peer Helpers Advisor Steve Gross. “Their enthusiasm for lifting up others has been incredible to watch.”
This student led project showcases the leadership skills and compassion of the Peer Helpers who organized the effort. Peer Helpers engage in different activities throughout the school year to help create an environment where all students feel supported and celebrated.
Templeton Middle School is proud of its students for making World Kindness Day a celebration of positivity and connection, reminding everyone that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
