Hamilton High School (HHS) is proud to unveil two professionally installed murals, designed entirely by students in the Principles of Marketing class. This student-driven initiative is the latest step in the school’s ongoing efforts to blend academic learning with real-world application, promoting both creativity and school spirit.
“Coming to school this fall I was super excited to see the mural in-person,” shares Hamilton High School senior Eliana Mettler who designed the staircase mural with 2025 graduate Payton Krenz. “I think the project was a great way to increase school spirit so I was excited to see the impact, and seeing my work on the wall is definitely surreal!”
There are two student designed murals that were created during the 2024-25 school year and then professionally installed over summer break. The mural near the HHS front entrance was designed by Hamilton High School sophomore Nick Wambach, sophomore Chase Trimberger and senior Jacob Osmanski who says he is proud of the effort the group put into this project.
“To walk into the school at the start of the year and see the mural on the wall was amazing,” adds Osmanski. He says the design process was truly a group effort. “We started this mural as a project for class hoping to get a good grade on the assignment and it ended up becoming a part of the school,” Osmanski adds.
The mural installation, including the purchase of high-quality wrap materials, was funded by a grant from the Hamilton Education Foundation (HEF). The non-profit organization is dedicated to supplementing the educational opportunities of Hamilton School District students and teachers.
“This project was such a rewarding experience to facilitate and truly highlights what makes the students at Hamilton so remarkable,” shares Hamilton High School Business and Marketing Teacher Amanda Fields. “Students engaged in every stage of the product design process. They conducted market research, generated and refined ideas, incorporated feedback and ultimately presented their final concepts to administration and members of the Hamilton Education Foundation. It’s so exciting to see their designs on the wall every day, knowing they’ve left a lasting mark on Hamilton for years to come,” says Fields.
Mettler says she enjoyed the attention to detail required while creating the mural. “Every word, font, color and image changed the meaning! The idea of making a tangible impact on the school was also very motivating and made the process exciting,” shares Mettler. “It was super fun to work to convey a message through the design, especially knowing it could influence my school.”
“Our vision is to create a visually appealing and informative school environment that fosters creativity, student involvement and career exploration,” explains Hamilton High School Associate Principal and Extended Learning Coordinator Marquea Goike. “These murals are a celebration of our students’ talents and a reflection of the professional skills they’re developing right here in our classrooms.”
