Hamilton School District invites community to Careers on Wheels

Hamilton School District invites all community members to the inaugural Careers on Wheels event to be held Wednesday, May 14 from 5-7 p.m. in the Hamilton High School parking lot. The event aims to highlight different pathways for students interested in dynamic, hands-on careers that do not involve a traditional office setting.

“Our goal is to bring the community together while showcasing exciting career paths beyond the traditional four-year college route,” explains Hamilton High School Associate Principal/Extended Learning Coordinator Marquea Goike. “Hamilton prides itself on every child, every opportunity for success. We really think about that when it comes to our Career in Technical Education courses,” she adds.

Goike is launching the Career on Wheels event for students of all ages. “For our high school students, this event will showcase various career pathways and give teens the opportunity to speak directly with professionals,” said Goike. “Meanwhile, it will be a fun and interactive experience for younger children in our community who are invited to explore large vehicles like an ambulance, fire truck and farm equipment.”

Careers on Wheels is free to attend. Community members are encouraged to park at Templeton Middle School or in the Hamilton High School visitor lot off of Town Line Road. The vehicles on display will be located in the student parking lot, which is on the south side of the building outside the cafeteria. Food trucks will also be onsite with items available for purchase.
