Three Hamilton seniors named National Merit Commended Students

Seniors Vahe Ohihoin, Samantha Seiler and Nina Wolff have been named Commended Students in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. They are among 34,000 students nationwide being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2024 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2024 competition by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

“All of our students have outstanding potential for academic success and it is wonderful that there are national programs that support the recognition of those who meet national benchmarks,” said Hamilton High School Principal Rebecca Newcomer. “We continue to be proud of our students for their achievements, as well as the partnerships between families and the school as we all work together to give our students academic rigor that opens doors for them in their futures.”

“These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their school plays in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation,” commented a spokesperson for the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).

The NMSC, established in 1955, is a not-for-profit organization that operates without government assistance.
