Hamilton students chosen National Merit finalists, Stanley named winner

Four Hamilton High School seniors have been named finalists in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Competition. The students are Brooke Stanley, Divyesh Pandey, Akhil Pidikiti and Shashwat Shastri. Stanley received a scholarship for being chosen as a National Merit Scholarship winner from a talent pool of more than 15,000 finalists.

Finalists must have an outstanding academic record throughout high school, be endorsed and recommended by the school principal, write an essay and earn SAT scores that confirm the students’ earlier test performance.

More than 1.5 million high school students entered the competition by taking the 2021 Preliminary SAT (PSAT)/National Merit Scholarship qualifying test.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), established in1955, is a not-for-profit organization that operates without government assistance. Scholarships are underwritten by NMSC with its own funds and by approximately 400 business organizations and higher education institutions to honor the nation’s scholastic champions and encourage the pursuit of academic excellence.
