The Hamilton School Board has approved the hiring of Courtney DeArmond as Marcy Elementary School principal. She will begin her new position July 1, 2023. DeArmond replaces Michele Trawicki, who announced her retirement after 15 years as Marcy principal.
DeArmond has eleven years of teaching experience and six years as an administrator. For the last four years, she has been principal at Jefferson Elementary School in the Manitowoc Public School District. She was associate principal at Wilson Junior High School for two years before that.
DeArmond earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Concordia University Chicago and a master’s degree in literacy from Northern Illinois University.
“We are pleased to hire Ms. DeArmond for this important leadership role. She is an experienced teacher and administrator with a passion for elementary education,” said Hamilton Superintendent Paul Mielke, Ph.D. “She is a highly trusted and respected leader who is known for focusing on relationships. She truly believes that all students can and will learn at high levels.”
