Hamilton students bring home medals from SkillsUSA

SkillsUSA

Three Hamilton High School students competed Dec. 8 in the SkillsUSA district-level competition hosted at Watertown High School. The students participated in individual contests of advertising design, cabinetmaking and woodworking display. All three students earned medals. They are:

  • Sydney Vande Hei – gold, woodworking display;
  • Katie Scaffidi – silver, advertising design; and
  • Isaac Kahlscheuer – silver, cabinetmaking.

SkillsUSA is an organization for students interested in pursuing careers or expanding their knowledge in skilled trades. More than 80 different contests are available in Wisconsin. In its sixth year as a SkillsUSA chapter, Hamilton’s team is advised by Applied Engineering and Technology teachers Alan Mamerow, Joe Premo, Tom Schlueter and Chad McLaughlin.
