Graduate Deepu Nair will be presented with the 2018 Hamilton High School Distinguished Alumnus Award at the school’s June 9 graduation ceremonies. Valedictorian for the class of 1994, Nair has been a cardiologist for the Palo Alto Medical Foundation since 2008. He served as department chairman of Mountain View Cardiology since 2015 and chair of general cardiology across the foundation in northern California. His medical group has helped lead the way in minimally invasive heart disease treatments.
Nair graduated from Hamilton a year early, and because of numerous Advanced Placement courses he took in high school, he also graduated early in 1997 from Harvard University with a degree in biochemical science. He completed medical school at Washington University in St. Louis and did his internship and residency at the University of California – San Francisco where he was chief resident for an additional year. He completed his training in cardiology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio where he also served as chief fellow.
He and his wife, Priti Patel, have two boys ages 6 and 8 years old.
