Woodside students jump for heart health

Woodside Elementary School students raised a total of $18,672 for the American Heart Association Jan. 18 through a “Jump Rope for Heart” event. With 245 students and their families participating, Woodside had a 56 percent participation rate from grades 2 through 5.wwolfoptforweb

Fifth grade student Parker Reich achieved Grand Master status for the first time in school history. This honor was earned by performing jumping routines 1-8 with no halts or mistakes. Reich has been practicing routines since kindergarten.

The event was coordinated by Woodside fitness education teacher Jen Reuter who expressed gratitude to participating students and parent volunteers who donated snacks and raffle prizes for the event.
