Summer Opportunities registration opens Feb. 22

The Hamilton School District will again offer its popular Summer Opportunities Program designed to provide enrichment, enjoyment, skill maintenance and development for students entering 4K through grade 8. It also provides middle school and high school enrichment opportunities, credit make-up courses, strength and agility training and driver’s education.

Program information – including class descriptions and schedules, transportation options and registration procedures – will be available Feb. 20 on the district’s website at www.hamilton.k12.wi.us under “Student Learning & Services.”

A new online registration process will be implemented this year that no longer benefits those who register first. Registration will open Feb. 22, and as long as registration is completed by March 24, students will have the same likelihood to get their first-choice classes as those registering earlier. A computerized scheduler will assign students to classes based on their grade level, number of requests for a class and class capacity. Families requesting popular courses should provide additional options when making class requests. Student schedules will be available and class fees may be paid beginning April 26.

Summer school enrichment courses will begin June 19 and end July 14. Some high school classes have different schedules. Classes will run Monday through Friday with vacation days on July 3 and July 4. Transportation will be available for a fee.
