Community Facilities Advisory Committee members met Feb. 13 to learn about potential grade 5-6 school building configurations from architect Scott Kramer. The committee has reviewed housing developments that are expected to bring at least 400 new students to the district in the next five years.
The committee favored building a new school for students in grades 5 and 6 and reconfiguring Templeton into a grades 7-8 school over other options presented. Also, the committee heard from Michael Clarke from R.W. Baird, who shared information about financing considerations.
The district has hired a survey company to conduct a stratified random telephone survey of district residents to gauge community sentiment regarding solutions to address enrollment growth. In addition, parents and employees will receive an email with a link to an online survey.
After results from the surveys are gathered, the committee will reconvene March 2 to consider support for various options.
