Hamilton students perform in State Honors Project

Hamilton High School senior Chloe Simchick and junior Megan Jansett performed Oct. 27 in the Wisconsin School Music AssociationHHS-sign-Home-Of-Chargers (WSMA) High School State Honors Orchestra and Band concert respectively held in the Overture Center for the Arts in Madison.

The orchestra was under the direction of internationally renowned conductor Nobuyoshi Yasuda from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and the band under the direction of Dr. Russ Mikkelson of Ohio State University.

Simchick and Jansett were among approximately 426 students chosen to participate from more than 1,600 auditions throughout the state. Simchick has been selected for the State Honors Band five times including twice at the middle school level.

The Wisconsin State Honors Project offers talented youth the opportunity to rehearse and perform in Honors Band, Orchestra, Choir and Jazz Ensemble.
