Hamilton drama to present “Fiddler on the Roof”

Hamilton High School Drama Department presents the classic musical “Fiddler on the Roof” Feb. 6-9 in the Hamilton Fine Arts Center (HFAC). Shows begin at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and at 2 p.m. for the Sunday performance.

Attempting to live a normal life filled with Jewish traditions in early 20th century Russia, Tevye , a dairyman, searches for appropriate husbands for his three eldest daughters – Tzeital, Hodel and Chava. In a break of tradition, his daughters refuse to accept the wishes of the matchmaker, Yente, and their father. Instead, they marry men they love. In the end, Jewish people of the village are forced to leave their homes and Tevye is determined to start a better life in a new land.

Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens. Tickets may be purchased 30 minutes before the show at the HFAC Box Office. For additional information, please call the Drama Department Box Office at (262) 246-6471 x1552.
