Three Templeton Middle School eighth-graders took first place in the Enrichment Game that is part of the statewide 2010 Stock Market Game spring competition. Under the guidance of Templeton social studies teacher Rhonda Watton, team members Casey Chopp, Carly Dassow and Mackenzie Lemon managed a hypothetical $100,000 investment portfolio in the 15-week game. The students ended the game with $120,326.72.
The Stock Market Game is sponsored by EconomicsWisconsin and introduces students to financial markets and institutions, how to choose and buy stocks, personal finance and budgeting skills and the value of investing for the future. Templeton Home and School provides funding that allows students the opportunity to participate in the Stock Market Game.
