Hamilton students score high in Financial Literacy Challenge

Hamilton High School students in Brenda Savic’s Personal Finance course participated in the National Financial Literacy Challenge, and three of them scored in the top 20th percentile among 76,892 students throughout the country who participated.

Hamilton students who received certificates from the U.S. Department of the Treasury in honor of their accomplishment are Dayton Hoell, Kevin Schroeder and Alexander Schultz.

The challenge was developed by the Department of the Treasury in consultation with economists and the Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy, Junior Achievement USA, the National Council on Economic Education and the National Endowment for Financial Education. It was created to help students learn about the nation’s financial system, including the need for saving and investing, using credit wisely, avoiding fraud and other financial topics.
