Volunteers from throughout the community are being recruited to help make Dozer Day 2009 another successful event. Dozer Day, an extraordinary fundraiser that benefits the Hamilton Education Foundation, will be held Sept. 12 at the Halquist Quarry in Sussex. Children, their families and visitors of all ages are able to get up close, ride, explore and even operate giant construction equipment, fire engines and military vehicles of all types. Quarry tours, educational displays and plenty of food and refreshments combine to make this a full day of fun for all.
Organizers are looking for volunteers to work from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at concessions, children’s games, Quarry Creek, water and soda tents, parking, ramp control or supervising stationary equipment.
“Dozer Day is a fun-filled event for people of all ages, and volunteers are the ones who make it possible,” said Kathleen M. Cooke, Ph.D., Dozer Day Volunteer Chairwoman.
