Hamilton High School students have gotten behind a community effort designed to reduce world hunger. Working with community and church leaders, Hamilton Student Council members have helped coordinate student contributions to the Kids Against Hunger campaign. The goal of Kids Against Hunger is to enlist more than 2,000 people in a one-day event to package more than 600,000 fortified meals to be distributed among starving children and families worldwide. The campaign also seeks to raise $60,000 to cover the cost of the ingredients for the food packages.
More than 60 Hamilton students involved with National Honor Society, Student Council and the Football Team will volunteer for 90-minute shifts between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Waukesha Expo Center, where community organizers will hold the packaging event.
Contributions and volunteers are still needed. Please contact Sandi Blackwell at (262) 246-8486 or e-mail to email@example.com.
