Hamilton presents “Once Upon a Mattress”

Please join Hamilton High School drama students as they present “Once Upon a Mattress.” Performances will be at 7 p.m. on Feb. 12, 13 and 14 and a 2 p.m. matinee on Feb. 15 in the Hamilton Fine Arts Center.

“Once Upon a Mattress” is the story of a kingdom ruled by a king who cannot speak, King Sextimus, and his controlling queen, Queen Aggravain. Attempting to keep her son Prince Dauntless unmarried, the queen decrees that only the princess who can pass the royal test may marry the prince and no one else in the kingdom may marry until the prince does. Two subjects, Lady Larken and Sir Harry, wish to be married are distressed with the decree. They attempt to find a solution. When Princess Winnifred the Woebegone catches the attention of the prince and attempts to pass the queen’s test, everyone lives happily ever after.

Come join the fun in this spoof of the famous fairytale “The Princess and the Pea.”
