Huge Asia map to come to Templeton

A huge map of Asia will be at Templeton Middle School May 27 and 28. The 31-by-40-foot map is a project of the Wisconsin Geographic Alliance, which promotes geography in classrooms and across the curriculum.

Darwin Gregorson, a retired teacher from Wausau, will accompany the map and provide lessons to students about Asia. Students will participate in lessons involving the map from 7:30 a.m. to 2:25 p.m. on May 27, and from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The school is able to participate in the map project at no cost. The Wisconsin Geographic Alliance covers the cost of transporting the map to Wisconsin schools and provides funding for Gregorson’s lessons.

The map will be located in the old gymnasium at Templeton, N59 W22490 Silver Spring Drive, Sussex.
