The Get Connected Parent Network invites parents to hear from David Henderson, Ed.D., who will speak on “Teen Depression: Awareness, Support, Healing” Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. The presentation, which is free and open to the public, will be in the Templeton Middle School Large Group Area, N59 W22490 Silver Spring Drive, Sussex
One-fifth of American youth will experience depression related to illnesses by the time they are 20. Henderson will help his audience recognize depression, intervene effectively and assist teens who might be dealing with depression.
Henderson has been a psychotherapist, clinic owner and consultant for the past 25 years working with individuals, families, businesses, churches, schools and not-for-profits. In addition to his consulting practice, he is a program consultant for InHealth,WI and co-creator of the “It’s Time,” series of interactive video programs on depression.
Henderson’s presentation will focus on issues most relevant to parents of children in middle and high school, however all parents are welcome to attend — regardless of their children’s age or school district in which they reside. There is no need to register for this event.
