Templeton Middle School will host the Scholastic Book Fair April 4-7. The book fair is open to students during the school day and to families and community members April 4 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. during Family Night.
In addition to the chance to browse and purchase books, Family Night will feature an ice cream social, student art exhibit and drawing for prizes. The evening is also a chance to help classrooms build their libraries. Visitors to the fair can check each teacher’s classroom wish list, then purchase and donate a requested book. Every donated book will have a bookplate with the name of the donor.
The fair will also be open during parent-teacher conferences April 6 from 3:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
Along with books, the fair will feature posters, pencils, erasers, kits, cookbooks and other items. The average cost of a paperback book is $4.99. Money earned from the fair will be used to purchase materials for the Templeton library.
The Templeton Home and School parent group donated enough money for each student to receive a $5 voucher toward the purchase of a book. Vouchers will be given to students when they come to the fair with their classroom teacher.
Templeton Middle School is located at N59 W22490 Silver Spring Dr., Sussex.
