Marcy Elementary School music teacher Rodney Loren, Ph.D., was named “Music Teacher of the Year” by the Milwaukee Civic Music Association. Loren will be honored May 3 for his outstanding work in the field of music education at an awards banquet. The recognition ceremonies will be at the Humphrey Scottish Rite Masonic Center in Milwaukee.
Loren has been instrumental in writing and monitoring the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra’s Arts in Community Education (ACE) curriculum. He teaches classes on elementary music methods and how to implement the ACE Program and in elementary schools. In addition to his teaching role, he is an accomplished organist.
The Civic Music Association has promoted music performance and education in the Milwaukee area since 1918.
