Woodside Elementary School students will celebrate science March 9 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with their annual all-school Science Fair.
Each grade level is involved.
- Kindergarteners will exhibit posters on the four seasons.
- First-graders will display animal posters.
- Second-graders will show their projects on planets.
- Third, fourth- and fifth-grade participants will display and tell about their recent investigations. Among the topics are: “Which liquid cleans dirty pennies the best?” “Which battery lasts the longest?” and “Which cereal has the most iron?”
In each of their investigations, the young scientists will use the “Scientific Method” of PHEOC — problem, hypothesis, experiment, observation and conclusion. In addition to students projects, there will be two guest scientists, Tom Kavanaugh and Andy Schifler, conducting continual, hands-on session on electricity and magnetism for the whole family to participate.
Woodside Elementary School is located at W236 N7465 Woodside Road, Sussex.
