Hamilton High School came away with 14 medals and eight students qualified for state Jan. 7 at the Southeastern Wisconsin Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) Career Development Conference. Some 37 Hamilton students were among the 922 students who competed in 15 areas of marketing management by taking tests, participating in role plays and case studies.
Hamilton business education teacher and DECA advisor Skip Hay congratulated the following students on their outstanding performance and earning medals at the conference:

- Frank Schweiger;
- Christopher Schalewski;
- Lea Thimm;
- Christie Wilhelm;
- Lyndsey Walz;
- Anthony Joseph Kerhin;
- Phillip Laper;
- Ashley Reimer; and
- Kayla Chambers.
Chambers took fifth place overall in the Restaurant Management Series The team of Laper and Reimer finished fifth place overall in the Travel and Tourism Series.
The following students qualified for the State Career Development Conference to be held in March in Lake Geneva.

Hamilton also was one of seven school that earned the Acts of Kindness Award in recognition of participation in Adopt-A-Classroom.
DECA is an association of marketing and management students that provides opportunities to compete in more than 50 categories related to marketing and management career development.
